Website Redesign Checklist
Start with the pages people must be able to find. For a professional service that is often home, the service itself, the people, practical questions, location and contact. A redesign that hides those is a step backward.
Write down what is wrong with the current site in plain language: hard to scan, not usable on a phone, outdated structure, no obvious way to enquire. Those problems should drive the new information architecture.
Keep the content that is still true. A redesign is a good time to remove pages that no longer represent the business, not a reason to invent new claims.
Agree the technical shape early. A marketing site can stay a straightforward website. Do not turn a redesign into an application unless there is a workflow that needs one.
Before launch, check the important paths on a phone: navigation, the primary page, and contact. Those are the ones a redesign is allowed to be judged on.
